I was born on a USAF Base in D.C. Perhaps that set me on a path to teach and learn history by listening to people's stories.
Through interviews, ethnographic research and immersion, cultural lifeways are discovered and shared through experiences: Do, listen, observe, immerse (myself and students), learn, build trust, and gain access. Projects, international collaboration, primary source interviews, and research changes your thinking and stretches your cultural rubber band that longs to spring back to what's familiar.
